The giant panda is one of the world's most beloved and recognizable animals, with its distinctive black-and-white coloring. The polar bear is the world's largest land carnivore and a masterful Arctic predator. Classified as a marine mammal due to their dependence on sea ice, polar bears are powerful swimmers that can cover distances of over 60 miles without rest. Their white fur is actually transparent and hollow, providing insulation and camouflage, while their skin underneath is jet black to absorb heat.
